depending on your vet, either just an office visit (which mine run about 30 bucks a pop) or the visit + some other random charge.

although i don't understand why you are so hellbent on not doing it yourself, it's cool if you want to pay that much. just know that there isn't really much that you can do wrong yourself.

Hope this helps and good luck :o)
References :
You poor things!

I guess that you and I are the only ones here who can appreciate how truly evil ticks are on the most complex level imaginable. Your vet will laugh at you, pull the tick off, then charge you for an office visit and possibly a round of antibiotics (Probably between 50 and 100 for the visit, maybe 10 to 20 for the meds).

I have to go sit in a corner and shudder now, ticks so totally gross me out. Bleagh.
References :
Regular visit charge. You don't want to wait while it burrows into the dog so you may want to do it yourself. The longer it is in the more the risk of infection. We did it with our dog. You take an eyebrow tweezer and pull it off, drop the tick in alcohol and then put alcohol on the spot.
References :
You don't want to use tweezers because the head will still be inside of you and you will get an infection. Put peanut butter over it and it will come out to breath. Ticks breathe through their butt.
References :
Boy Scouts

Put Vaseline on it and it will die and you will be able to take it out easily no reason to be afraid of doing it. If something goes wrong you can still go to the vet in the morning.
References :
I heard that you can hold the tick's body away from your skin and then with a lighter burn the tick's back and it will retract out of your skin, I've never tried this so I don't really know whether it really works or not!
References :
Just put some vaseline on the tick; that will smother it and it will die. When it dies, it stops biting and it will come out cleanly, leaving nothing behind to hurt the dog. No reason to spend $50 or more to have the vet do it when you can do it yourself for four cents' worth of vaseline.
References :
I do this on my own dogs whenever they have a tick.

Doesn't matter. Do it. It'll cost more to have the dog cremated when it gets lyme disease or some other nasty ailment from the bug.
