my dog had 2 apparent tick bites, one site all I found was a dried up bloody scab near her ear, other side of her mouth I actually found the tick on her-(removed it,applied peroxide and anti-bac cream, bathed her) she still seems to be scratching a lot at the tick bite areas, does it mean something is wrong or is it normal? it has been 4-5 days since, she got the ticks from a park about 8 days ago, the tick was brown, not red or black or grey. she is a bichon with naturally sensitive skin, what should I do for her?, she seems completely normal otherwise
I also know that she doesn’t have fleas, she is treated every month with revolution, and I sprayed her with a tick repellent after I noticed the tick situation,I think I might switch to frontline+ or advantix.
Keep putting on the antibacterial cream on the area. Ticks will leave a redness and an Irritation area that will drive some dogs nuts. It’s because when the tick bites it secrets a kind of anesthesia into the dogs skin so the dog won’t know it’s there. After it’s gone this wears off and the dog itches a lot.
Ticks that carry Lyme Disease are in Ontario. The Bug Guy, Curtis Russell, PHD says stay cool and Target Lyme.

I have around 4 bites. 3 on the left side near the top of my arm, one small one under my arm pit, and 1 on the right side. I discovered this the morning, after i slept in a guinee tee the night before (only time). I have just went out side the night before to play manhunt, but i was wearing long pants, and a sweatshirt with the hood over. they feel like mosquito bites, but the one on the right is really red. And i was wondering if it might be a tick bite. There is no ring or bullseye around it, but it has only been about 2 days…. can mosquito bites get really red even if you dont scratch it? I don’t feel sick or anything, I feel normal. help please.
It is just more red(hah) than it a a normal mosquito bite that i usually get.. After a regular msquito bite, it usually goes back to skin color, but this one just stays red, its not that big. and there is no dot or anything in the middle of the bites. thanks
If it were a tick bite, the tick would be in the middle of it.
I went to a week long night camp and came back and found a tick on my left hip. The longest it could have been there is 1 1/2 days. It was really really grey and tiny and I had a family member take it out w/ tweezers and my dad was sure it was all out. There was no redness, but the day after it started to get red around it and a few days later it was itchy and the redness spread. About 3 weeks later it started peeling and it still is now. The circle of redness is about 4 inches in diameter, and looks sorta like sunburn and peels like sunburn. It doesn’t look like a bullseye rash either. It itches just a little bit and I have been putting hydrocortisone and neosporin on it. Do you think I am allergic to tick bites or what? Should I go to the doctor?
I haven’t had any lyme-disease symptoms but it is hard to tell for joint soreness because I have mild juvenile arthritis. I feel fine otherwise. I take multiple medications for that and I have been on antibiotics for an infected ingrown toenail, but I am off of it tomorrow.

My husband pulled a tick off the nape of his neck, now there is a large bump just above the bite. it is not red, does not itch, does not hurt to touch, or push on it. I was just wondering if this was a normal symptom of a tick bite that will go away? I read about normal swelling, redness and itchyness related to tick bite, but this is different.
Hello~
Tickborn Diseases are the fastest growing infectious diseases in the US…faster than AIDS, West Nile and Avian Flu all put together with more than 200,000 NEW cases per year.
Many people are aware of the "bulls eye" rash (. Erythema migrans) related to Lyme disease but there are many swelling and other type reactions associated with tick born illness as well as Lyme. Ticks can carry Ehrlichiosis/ Rickettsial Diseases, Babesia, Tulerimia, Micoplasmas’, Chlamydial PN, Bartonella or Bartonella like organism, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and more.
Anytime there is a reaction to a tick bite is is safest to see a doctor.
If I were you, to be on the safe side,I would insist to my family doctor to get a good round of doxycycline (200mg 2x’s daily, no less than 300mg daily) for at least 14 days even if he has no symptoms at this time. (doxy is a wide spectrum antibiotic that helps subdue the reproduction of several of these bacteria)
Testing is unreliable for tick born illnesses so they are a clinical diagnosis, even according to the CDC.
Unfortunately, most doctors use the outdated protocols by the IDSA’s diagnosis and treatment guidelines. These IDSA guidelines have been found fraudulent by the CT Attorney General so infected people often have to find a Lyme Literate Medical Doctor (LLMD) to get appropriate diagnosis and treatment.
You can read about the IDSA flawed guidelines here:

Whats the most dangerous creature on earth? Without question the answer is: the mosquito. Mosquitoes and the diseases they spread have been responsible for killing more people than all the wars in history. Even today, mosquitoes transmitting malaria kill 2 million to 3 million people and infect another 200 million or more every year. Tens of millions more are killed and debilitated by a host of other mosquito-borne diseases, including filariasis, yellow fever, dengue and encephalitis.
Ticks are excellent vectors for disease transmission.1 More than 800 species of these obligate blood-sucking creatures inhabit the planet. They are second only to mosquitoes as vectors of human disease, both infectious and toxic.
Ticks can carry and transmit a remarkable array of pathogens, such as bacteria, spirochetes, rickettsiae, protozoa, viruses, nematodes, and toxins. A single tick bite can transmit multiple pathogens, a phenomenon that has led to atypical presentations of some classic tick-borne diseases. In the United States, ticks are the most common vectors of vector-borne diseases.
In North America, the following diseases are caused by tick bites: Lyme disease, human granulocytic and monocytic ehrlichiosis, babesiosis, relapsing fever, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Colorado tick fever, tularemia, Q fever, and tick paralysis. In Europe, the list is similar, but other diseases should be considered as well; these include boutonneuse fever (caused by a less virulent spotted fever rickettsial organism Rickettsia connori) and tick-borne encephalitis.
Biting flies transmit debilitating diseases to millions of people worldwide. Sand flies (Psychodidae) transmit sand fly fever, bartonellosis and leischmaniasis in many parts of the world. In the United States, one deer fly species (Chrysops discalis) can transmit tularemia. Biting midges (Ceratopogonidae) transmit a variety of diseases and, in the U.S., infect livestock with blue tongue virus. In addition, the bites of black flies (Simuliidae), horse flies (Tabanidae) and stable flies (Stomoxys calcitrans), can produce severe allergic reactions.
Fleas are capable of transmitting disease to both people and pets — fleas can carry typhus, tapeworms and other diseases.

I love to hang out in the woods and ticks have seem to be a pretty bad problem lately. I use bug spray and wear long sleeves and pants but i still have picked up some ticks. Any other ways to prevent them?
Bug spray usually keep them off but since it doesn’t work for you…apply rubbing alcohol on your body often so it smells like it. But I think bug spray is the most helpful…
