What is lime disease ?

Posted on June 20th, 2010 by admin

LOL, well first its spelled Lyme Disease, and its what you get when a tick that carries it , infects you, it causes severe nausea, headaches, blurred vision, among other things, so check your scalp for the lil boogers, burn them till they come out and keep the tick for testing at your hospital or doctors office, to see if it carries it, in case you ever get sick after camping, but then again, it could have just been the water…….

Lime disease question?

Posted on June 18th, 2010 by admin

I was recently bitten by a tick, not really sure whether it was a deer tick or dog tick. But anyways, i was wondering if a lime disease rash has to have a ring around it in order for it to be considered "lime disease". I just have a little red around the bite, not a ring like the pictures on some medical websites

Erythema mirgrans, the so called bull’s eye rash will take about a week to a month to develope. About 80% percent of those who are infected with Lyme disease will have a rash.

Not every tic is infected. There many different types of tics. The deer tic is known to carry the disease. It is a very small tic, about the size of the tip of a pencil.

To have some inflammation from a tic bite is common.

The best thing is not to worry. You can call your primary care doctor and speak with them. The treatment is easy with doxycycline for 21 days.

good luck

Can you get lime disease through blood?

Posted on June 7th, 2010 by admin

My boyfriend has lime disease and we were wondering if it can be transferred through blood..

No, Lyme disease cannot be spread between people. It can only be spread through an insect vector (such as a tick bite).
