‘One Tick Away’ trailer for UK documentary

‘One Tick Away’ takes an in-depth and sometimes uncomfortable look at the very real effects of Borreliosis (Lyme disease).

The film covers the basic facts about tick-borne disease in the United Kingdom.

Es kann jedes Organ, das Nervensystem, die Gelenke und das Gewebe befallen werden. Deshalb spricht man bei dieser Erkrankung auch von einer multisystemischen Krankheit. Die Erkrankung kommt beim Menschen und allen anderen Säugetieren sowie Vögeln vor. Die Übertragung erfolgt vor allem durch eine Zeckenart
English: Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne disease in the Northern Hemisphere. Borrelia is transmitted to humans by the bite of infected ticks. Early symptoms may include fever, headache, fatigue, depression, and a characteristic circular skin rash called erythema migrans. Left untreated, later symptoms may involve the joints, heart, and central nervous system. In most cases, the infection and its symptoms are eliminated by antibiotics, especially if the illness is treated early.
