Please visit Janson Media from more information on this program: http://bit.ly/95SyAr

Beginning with the first occurrences in the village of Lyme, Connecticut in the 70s, to the identification of the virus in the mid 80s, to the unmasking of borreliosis as a true epidemic and the reason behind widespread ailments such as rheumatism, nerve paralysis and heart diseases in the 90s.Next to the Malaria-carrying mosquito, the tick is the most dangerous animal carrier of diseases worldwide. But unlike the mosquito, the dangers carried by ticks are extremely complex. Doctors have only recently discovered the extent of the real threat posed by these bloodsuckers, these tiny vampires. They carry viruses, bacteria, and one-celled animals or nematodes. At least ten diseases have their main or even sole origin brought on by ticks. Some of the bacteria (Borrelia, Rickets, Ehrlichien) have adapted to the life cycle of the tick during the cause of evolution.

Doggy Tear Stain Removal help…….And another quick question….?

Posted on July 13th, 2010 by admin

I FOUND A DOG SUNDAY ROAMING THE STREETS. BOTH MGRS @ PETCO & PET SUPERMARKET SAID IT POSSIBLY CAN BE A MALTESE ;)
IVE CHECKED THE LOCAL PET SHELTERS & WEBSITES..NOTHING SEEMS TO COME UP.SO IM KEEPING HIM. WHEN MY HUSBAND& I SAW HIM IT ONLY TOOK ONE WHISTLE & HE JUMPED INTO MY CAR. HES VERY SHY & THAT SUNDAY LOOKED LIKE A HOTT MESS. SOMEONE CUT HIS HAIR W/ SCISSORS ( TO TAKE OFF KNOTS)BUT LEFT HIM ALL PATCHY.
HE WAS COLD, STARVED NOT TO MENTION HAD FLEAS UP THE @SS! =\
WE IMMEDIATELY WENT TO PET SUPERMARKET, BOUGHT HIM FOOD & ADAM’S TICK & FLEA REMOVAL SHAMPOO. TOOK HIM HOME WASHED HIM DOWN….ALL FLEAS WERE GONE & MY HUSBANS SHAVED HIM BALD…. HE WAS 2 PATCHY LOL & HAD KNOTS. ANYWHO, I HAVE A VET APPT NEXT WEEK. BUT MEANWHILE, HE HAS BAD TEAR STAINS & SINCE FLEAS ATE HIM UP, HAS SCABS THE HE KEEPS PICKING & CHEWING ON. WHAT CAN I DO? ANY SUGGESTIONS 4 ANYTHING? HOME REMEDIES? WILL HE STOP BEING SO SHY?! I LOVE HIM ALREADY. HES NEUTERED LOOKS BOUT 2YRS OLD. ALWAYS SHAKING.
MORE ANSWERS PLEASE…. ADVICE… REMEDIES…. OPINIONS =)

Surely after he’s gotten to know you, he will stop being shy, but give him some time and he’ll warm up to you. :)

Tear stain removal is best with warm water. The chemicals don’t do all what they say, so just rub with warm water.

Also, the scabs, the vet may give you something to help him with.

I a tick bites you, how do you get it out?

Posted on July 13th, 2010 by admin

If I get bit by a tick, how do I get it out?

While the first answer is correct, I gotta tell you, where I live, there are LOTS of ticks, especially teeny-tiny baby ones (we call them seed ticks)….

If I had to use tweezers to remove them when I get into a bad nest of them (about once a year, while mushroom hunting), I’d be at it all night, and probably into the next morning.

I just grab ‘em, and pull ‘em out. If they haven’t bitten you yet, and you have a bunch, try tape, the wider the better. Just make the tape into a circle, sticky side out, and start rolling it around the area with ticks.

I also had grandparents who said to put Vick’s vapor rub on them, and they will release you. :)
